To help the founders of Realize U reach more people with their transformative mediation practices, we took a holistic approach, beginning with entirely refreshed branding under the name Leval. Like the brand’s teachings, we combined elements of the practical and the spiritual to create an identity that’s truly transcendent. After establishing the brand identity, we used it as the foundation for a complete redesign of the website and supporting materials, down to the student workbooks, to create a captivating and cohesive visitor experience.
Realize U to Leval
Our brand strategy began with a new name to capture their mission and identity. “Lev väl” is a Swedish phrase meaning “live well.” We united the words into a single entity to facilitate ease of spelling and web searches. A close homonym to “level,” Leval evokes a sense of balance that’s further reflected in the elegant symmetry of the typography. Clean, refined, and carrying an air of luxury, the coinage is distinct to the brand, setting it apart from other terms inundating the wellness space. We crafted a design language with delicate, Sanskrit-like flourishes that mirror the curves found in nature. A subtle glyph provides a visual accent that lifts the gaze—similar to an Indian bindi, invoking the concept of the third eye.
